Still have a few light rain showers along I-55, but with dry air slipping in, those will quickly end…A few sprinkles or light or a passing shower is still possible through lunch time, then the clearing process begins this afternoon, just in time for the weekend. The strongest winds are just south of Yazoo City from Tinsley to Bentonia, to Flora, along the bowing segment of the storm; very strong wind aloft are blowing into the back side of the storm, causing the bow look. At 6:55PM the NWS issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning – New effective until 8:00PM for the following counties: Carroll,East,Madison,Tensas,Issaquena,Sharkey,Warren.. The strongest winds are moving through Alsatia south to Mound, heading toward Valley Park, Redwood, and Vicksburg Here is the base velocity product, indicating inbound winds of 57 kts approaching Eagle Bend:

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Attala, Leake, and Madison Counties until 3:15. It is moving through Camden approaching Thomastown…That is the only warning, right now. We still have a severe thunderstorm warning out for Carroll, Holmes, and Leflore until 1:45…The main threat is strong winds and hail, which shoulh pass just south of Greenwood, but move into Carrollton within the next 10 minutes…The storm has been weakening over the past 15 minutes or so
